Foottroller user guide

Initial Setup

1. Power the Control Box: Use a micro USB cable. The box will automatically connect to a paired device or can be connected to a PC/VR headset via Bluetooth.

2. Power the Footwear: Connect both footwear units using USB-C cables. They will automatically pair with the control box.

3. Status Check: Flashing LEDs indicate the system is searching for footwear; solid LEDs indicate a successful connection.

Operation Modes

Mode 1: Default Mode

- Movement: Requires both feet to remain on the ground. Movement stops if a foot is lifted.

- Forward: Press both left foot buttons and tilt the right foot forward while pressing the front button.

- Backward: Press both left foot buttons and tilt the right foot backward while pressing the heel button.

- Right: Press both right foot buttons and tilt the left foot forward while pressing the front button.

- Left: Press both right foot buttons and tilt the left foot backward while pressing the heel button.

- Speed: Controlled by the tilt angle of the active foot.

Mode 2: Walk-in-Place

To activate, press the middle button on the control box until the top LED is on and the bottom LED is off.

- Activation: Start movement using the same foot gestures as in mode 1, then lift a foot to begin walking in place.

- Speed: Controlled by your stepping frequency; faster switches between feet result in higher speeds.

- Stopping: Press all four buttons across both feet simultaneously.

Technical Details & Development

- Inputs: Four buttons (sent as gamepad buttons 1-4) and foot angles (Z, Rx, Ry, and Rz axes).

- Development Mode: Press the rightmost button on the control box to enable raw data transmission to your connected device. In standard mode, only the X and Y movement axes are active.

Training Tips

- Beginners: Practice in Mode 1 to master the starting gestures and tilt-based speed adjustments.
