Foottroller user guide

Initial Setup
1. Power the Control Box: Use a micro USB cable. The box will automatically connect to a paired device or can be connected to a PC/VR headset via Bluetooth.
2. Power the Footwear: Connect both footwear units using USB-C cables. They will automatically pair with the control box.
3. Status Check: Flashing LEDs indicate the system is searching for footwear; solid LEDs indicate a successful connection.
Operation Modes
Mode 1: Default Mode
- Movement: Requires both feet to remain on the ground. Movement stops if a foot is lifted.
- Forward: Press both left foot buttons and tilt the right foot forward while pressing the front button.
- Backward: Press both left foot buttons and tilt the right foot backward while pressing the heel button.
- Right: Press both right foot buttons and tilt the left foot forward while pressing the front button.
- Left: Press both right foot buttons and tilt the left foot backward while pressing the heel button.
- Speed: Controlled by the tilt angle of the active foot.
Mode 2: Walk-in-Place
To activate, press the middle button on the control box until the top LED is on and the bottom LED is off.
- Activation: Start movement using the same foot gestures as in mode 1, then lift a foot to begin walking in place.
- Speed: Controlled by your stepping frequency; faster switches between feet result in higher speeds.
- Stopping: Press all four buttons across both feet simultaneously.
Technical Details & Development
- Inputs: Four buttons (sent as gamepad buttons 1-4) and foot angles (Z, Rx, Ry, and Rz axes).
- Development Mode: Press the rightmost button on the control box to enable raw data transmission to your connected device. In standard mode, only the X and Y movement axes are active.
Training Tips
- Beginners: Practice in Mode 1 to master the starting gestures and tilt-based speed adjustments.
- Advanced: In Mode 2, focus on maintaining balance on one foot per step to achieve precise speed control.

Now Foottroller can be used to control movement in the stand alone VR game
Note: For VRChat, when the game is running, first switch Foottroller operation mode to Mode Dev. to activate Foottroller inputs in VRChat. Then switch back to operation mode 2 for movement control.
